07/26/2004 Entry: "Rochester, MN"

Pretend that I didn't forget to post this for two weeks and that the date on this entry is actually closer to the beginning of August. I was worried that you might be worried that something terrible had happened and that we didn't finish RAGBRAI. You can stop worrying now. I will too. We made it. Everyone was in Clinton by around 2:00 on Saturday. Many a tear was shed at the finish, but we all swore an oath to do it again some time in the future, if we get the chance and have the time, if the sun is shining and there is a tailwind, if the stars smile upon us, and if it's not too inconvenient. After all that, the Wisconsinites went back to the land of milk and cheese, and the Iowans stayed in the land of imported milk and cheese. Well, that's not quite true. Seager and I made a trip to the land of...I don't know what really. Nebraska. Omaha, to be precise. We made it to RoadShow legend Jesse's wedding reception at about 8:00 Saturday night. Apparently all went well at the ceremony, and the happy couple left for Jamaica early the next day. James, who rode with us for the first day this year and a few days last year, and RoadShow USA member Josh were at the reception as well. Of course, RoadShow USA member and Jesse's brother Morgan was there too. Also, honorary (I guess) RoadShow member Nick stopped by in between returning from South America and leaving for Mexico. How's that for making your life sound boring? Anyway, you have better things to do than to listen to me ramble. Be sure to keep an eye on the message boards. There should be some good discussion there.
